Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance or bill insurance companies?
  • We work for you… not the insurance companies.  This allows us to provide the highest quality integrative and functional medicine services.  We are considered out-of-network for insurance providers and currently do not participate in insurance programs.
  • Sometimes, insurance companies can provide coverage for certain lab orders.  Check with your insurer to see if they cover certain labs tests if they have been ordered for you.
What wellness plans do you offer?

We realize that everyone has different needs in regards to their health.  Therefore, we have developed four different wellness plans: The Welliom Membership, The Welliom Membership Plus, The Welliom Optimal Wellness Assessment, and Welliom à la carte.   Each plan has been designed for different health goals for individuals.  You can learn more about each plan here.

Do you replace an insurance plan?

We are not an insurance plan.  We recommend that you keep a separate health insurance plan.  A Welliom membership does not meet any insurance requirement.

Why do I need a primary care physician to become a Welliom member?

We take your health seriously, as we do for all our members. We require that you have a primary care physician (PCP). Welliom experts provide consultations in the context of integrative and functional medicine. Our office visits are scheduled as we don’t offer same-day walk ins, after hours care, or urgent care.  We do not replace your primary care physician; therefore, we require that you have a PCP in case you need primary care services.

What about lab testing?

Many lab tests offered in our integrative, functional medicine program can be covered by insurance by varying degrees.   Any specific test we order will be personalized to you based on your evaluation by a Welliom physician — and the test may cover blood, stool, urine or saliva testing.  If a conventional test is needed, we utilize services from Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp.

What does Welliom mean?

Welliom is a combination of “Wellness” and “Axiom.” We believe it sounds catchy! What do you think?

Do you sell any products such as herbs or supplements?

Welliom is not in the business of selling any herbs, supplements, or nutraceuticals.  However, we collaborate with a dispensaries called Fullscript and Kaerwell to deliver herbs, supplements or nutraceuticals to your home. We also have accounts with Xymogen and Metagenics.  We have the ability to offer discounts through these dispensaries. There is absolutely no obligation to use this service.  Ultimately, our patients are free to go anywhere to purchase any herbs, supplements, or nutraceuticals that we recommend.  We ask that you do appropriate research to avoid purchasing a bad product.
